About PURRINDEX

PURRINDEX is an independent evidence index for automated cat care, published as a static website at purrindex.com. It is the publisher of everything on this domain. It is not a magazine, not a laboratory and not a retailer.

Automatic and self-cleaning litter boxes sold in the United States. For each product PURRINDEX tracks the same 30 fields — dimensions, entry height, stated cat weight, litter compatibility, waste handling, connectivity, consumables, warranty — so that products from different manufacturers can be compared on the same terms rather than on whichever specifications each brand chose to advertise.

• Every published value is read from a document and carries that document's URL, its class and the date it was read. Manufacturer manuals outrank manufacturer marketing pages, which outrank retailer listings.
• When two sources disagree, PURRINDEX shows both figures and publishes a written ruling explaining which one it follows and why. Nothing is silently averaged.
• When a manufacturer publishes nothing, the page says so. An unknown is never filled in with a plausible number, and absence of documentation is reported as a fact about what a buyer can find out — not as a fault in the product.
• The share of tracked fields each manufacturer actually publishes is shown on every product, so a reader can see how much of a claim rests on evidence.

• PURRINDEX does not test products. It has never had one of these machines in a room. Nothing here is a hands-on review, a durability test or a measurement taken by us.
• It does not employ named reviewers, and no article here is bylined, because there is no expert to attribute it to. The work is documentary.
• It does not score, rate or award. It reports what is documented and what is not.
• It does not publish live retail pricing, marketplace data or manufacturer photography.
• It does not characterise any seller's conduct, and it does not claim two products are the same unless the published evidence supports it.

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. Following one takes you to the retailer, who may then set their own cookies and apply their own privacy policy — PURRINDEX has no access to that and receives no personal data from it. PURRINDEX itself still sets no cookies. The analytics named above do count that a retailer link for a given product was followed — that is how this site learns whether it is useful — but they stay cookieless, record nothing about who followed it, and are not sent the link address or the tracking identifier.

Commercial data lives in a separate layer that the editorial code cannot read. Product ordering, shortlist membership, comparisons and every recommendation are computed without access to commission, merchant or tracking fields, and an automated audit fails the build if that separation is ever broken. Products with no commercial destination appear, rank and are recommended exactly like the rest — several of the most prominently linked products on this site earn nothing.

A published value can be wrong in three ways: it was read incorrectly, the manufacturer changed it, or a better source has since appeared. All three are corrections, and all three are handled the same way — the underlying record changes, its source and capture date change with it, and the corrected value ships in the next build. Conflict rulings are not permanent: when a stronger primary source appears, the ruling is revisited and rewritten rather than left standing.

Every page footer carries the date the specifications were captured and the date the site was built, so a reader can always see how old the evidence is. PURRINDEX does not backdate a correction to make the record look better than it was.

PURRINDEX does not yet publish a public channel for reporting errors. Until it does, this section describes how corrections are handled rather than promising a response time it cannot guarantee.
